Thermal energy storage system
Grand Hotel cooling system that reduces the amount of CO2. At a depth of
metres a warm well. The wells are located in the “Aquifer”, the
best water holding sand layers. In these wells thermic energy is stored.
During the summer the water of the cold well (8 degrees Celsius)
is pumped up to the “plate heat exchanger” a heat exchanger
that exchanges the temperature of acertain to another liquid.
This exchanger cools down the cool water system of the hotel,
which is used for example for the air handling units in the hotels rooms. The used and warmed water (18 to 25 degrees Celsius) is afterwards stored in the warm well and stored for the winter.
During the winter this water is pumped up by a heat pump and warms up the central heating system of the hotel
that is for example used for the heating in the rooms an the swimming pool. The cooled water (8 degrees Celsius)
that returns, is led to the cold well and stored for the summer.
