In our function meeting rooms you will find all the equipment you need — including an audio-video projector, laptop, TV and DVD player — free of charge. A free fibre optic Wi-Fi internet connection is available throughout our hotel.

Business Packages

Here’s a general guide to how your day might be arranged. Waiting for you upon arrival are coffee, tea, all-butter biscuits, bonbons, fresh fruit and mineral water. We replenish this assortment regularly. Soft drinks are also available in the conference room. At around 10 am your guests enjoy coffee accompanied by something tasty. From 12.30 to 1.30 pm we serve lunch in your conference room or in Restaurant Seven Seas. Around 3 pm we can serve a nice refreshment, like a snack.

Function Rooms

We offer a choice of eight function rooms that are suitable for conferences, meetings and other events. The maximum capacity is 32 people in a boardroom setting, and 82 in a theatre setting. Other layouts are also possible. Check our Meeting & Events Brochure.

Our most spectacular room is the Council Chamber, where the powerful shipping barons once gathered. The space was designed to exude grandeur and status, and it still does so today. That’s because the room and its furniture have survived fully intact. Here you really can convene ‘in a world of luxury and art’.

Both the Nieuwenhuis Room and J.P. Coen II Room boast splendidly tall ceilings and offer a sublime setting for your meeting, breakfast or dinner. The fixed layout, composed of a table and comfortable monumental chairs, can accommodate six guests.

J.P. COEN I - UP TO 42
The J.P. Coen I Room features majestically tall windows that offer views of the water and Oosterdokseiland. Without doubt, the original timber panelling and floor make this room a unique venue. The tables can accommodate up to 20 people. This room is excellently suited for private family dinners, or it can be arranged as a 42-seat theatre for presentations.

Our biggest space is Ray’s Club. With its own private bar, this room is perfect for festive occasions and receptions. Up to 150 people can gather in this basement space. If desired, we can adorn the room entirely according to your taste or theme. Thanks to its V-shaped layout, you can hold a presentation on one side while we serve lunch or coffee on the other side.

Located behind the imposing door of the former bank safe of the Scheepvaart-
huis is our wine cellar. It’s the ideal location for an aperitif, a wine-tasting session or a presentation. The private character of the safe allows you to enjoy your wine and company to the full.

Our Van der Meij Hall features skilfully sculpted marble and a splendid stained-glass sky that crowns the imposing three-floor staircase. The roof is of such stunning beauty that your reception, break in your programme, or cocktail event will be one your guests will always remember. You can make use of the Van der Meij Hall in addition to one of the other function rooms.

Food & Beverages

During your event we can serve lunch, coffee and tea in your function room. However, if you prefer a change of surroundings, we can serve you in our Restaurant Seven Seas.

You can reserve our restaurant for groups up to 130 guests. We can reserve one section exclusively for groups up to 60 guests.

Walking Dinner

A walking dinner at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam is a unique experience full of discoveries. There is no better way to experience ‘the world of luxury and art’ inside Scheepvaarthuis with your guests, with a glass in your hand and your plate nearby. We serve each course of the meal in a different space. Along your route, you have all the time you need to marvel at the exuberant Amsterdam School interior with its many details. We are on hand to tell you the history of the Scheepvaarthuis. Our chef ensures that the dishes are easy to manage so that you and your guests can concentrate on enjoying yourselves.

A popular scenario starts with a welcome and entrée beneath our breathtaking stained-glass sky. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy an entremets on the roof terrace with a view across the city, your main course in our Seven Seas restaurant, and your dessert in the wine cellar. And we also take in the paternosters that we’re so proud of, since only two buildings in Amsterdam still possess such lifts.
