Tulip Festival

Despite their fame, it takes a bit more effort to track down tulips in the streets and gardens of Amsterdam nowadays. But there can never be enough tulips, and so, each spring, the festival celebrates the famous flower and ensures it blooms all over Amsterdam. All through the first half of April, more than 500,000 colourful and occasionally rare tulips can be seen in the gardens of museums, private homes and other city institutions.

Expedition Oosterdok

On Saturday 21st of April the 'Expedition Oosterdok' will be held to discover the Oosterdok district. Several activities will be organized, such as via the archi tour or from the open boat.

We would be delighted to welcoming you at Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam, from 12:00 till 04:00 p.m. you are welcome to join our Grand Tour and from 03:30 till 05:00 p.m. you will discover the rich history of the Oosterdok during our reading in the Beraadzaal. Afterwards you can enjoy the Conservatorium concert and several drinks in our Restaurant Seven Seas.

King's Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on 27 April (26 April if the 27th is a Sunday), the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander. Amsterdam colors orange on King's Day. The city offers the best outdoor festivities for young and old, on the street, the canals and in the parks. With live performances, festivals and the many free markets, King's day is the biggest street party of the year.

To celebrate its continual liberation and societal freedoms, various activities and events are planned throughout the city.
